Re: Steering boxes
Seven tooth steering boxes were used between the start to March 1930.
The 2 tooth steering boxes were used between Feb 1929 until the end.

Re: Steering boxes
The 7 tooth one piece was from the start and used on different models through 1929, but some trucks might have had it as late as 1930 (I think). You'd have to check the Judging Standards to be sure when they were last used.
The 2 tooth two piece column was introduced in February 1929 and used to the end. My early 1929 Tudor (2-23-29 gas tank date) has the new 2 tooth. |

Re: Steering boxes
We have a RHD 29 Tudor, I seem to recall was sold here in NZ Setember '29, but I have no idea when the kit would have been made in Canada.
Now, for a hijack: It has a 7 tooth early box..... but we just discovered a crack in the case!!! Should we repair/replace or "upgrade" to the 2 tooth for the better adjustability??? Either way, I'll be rebuilding it first. Local engineer says he can repair the crack.

oh, and if you are using Les Andrew's books as a guide when assembling a 2 tooth box, be careful. He gets it wrong. By the way, if you happen accross a spare 2 tooth box, Pls let me know. The 7 tooth in my '28 Tudor would go. PM me for a contact over in US for a supply of RHD bits and lots of very helpful info.
