Default Radius Cross pin

Removed my front end. I had to cut bolts off as there was no retaining pin. I ordered a new kit and just want to know how the pin is installed. I see the cross cuts in bolts. Do you just slide it in between them?

When you install the 2 bolts, then the crosspin, push up and down on the two bolts to check for end play. Sometimes the bolts pockets get so worn that the bolts sink too far down and the crosspin can't hold the bolt slot from turning. This condition will also allow more slop on the spring loaded ball cap.

If the pockets are too worn, then just make some small diameter washers to fit under the bolt heads. The easiest thing to do is take washers that fit the shaft snugly and turn or grind the OD to the head diameter.

The cotter pin goes in there just to keep the "pin" from creeping out of the bell housing.
