"lace-on" radiator shell
I am looking for information on the early '28 "lace-on" radiator shell parts. Does anyone have pics or know how the lace was installed? Does anyone sell kits for these. All I can find are kits for the later "rivet on" lacing.
Thanks Tom |

Re: "lace-on" radiator shell
My info suggests these were obsolete after vehicle 25,000, but continued until May (50,000) on trucks. The holes in shell are 3/8”. I used 5/8” wide x 1/8”thick lace from Restoration Supply Co. in Escondido, CA. (their part #CLO003) … great folks to work with and a big catalog of unique goodies!! These folks lost a lot in the 2007 California fires but remain true to our hobby and stand by their high quality products!! IMHO worthy of our support.
First pix is my shell during prep .. wood used as support during sanding. Second shell is painted (mine is a commercial) shell with above lacing. Restoration Supplies 15182 Highland Valley Rd # B Escondido, CA 92025-2320 (760) 741-4014 () restorationstuff.com |
