Default Hood Bumper Installation

I just bought a set of the rubber hood bumpers for my 1929 wagon. The set also has rivets. I purchased the rivet peening tool as well. Does anyone have a good picture of how these should look installed and how to do the rivets?

Are you referring to the 6 round rubber bumpers with rivets? If so, 4 go in the holes where the hood clamps are located. The other two go on the hood shelf tab to keep the hood from rattling. I made a concave tool to fit the rivet head to "buck" the rivet head inside the rubber bumper and bought a semi tubular rivet set to set the rivets on the inside of the hood panels and hood shelves. See pictures for the locations.

As Rusty noted, a normal concave buck does not work inside the small hole of the rubber bumper. I just used a smaller diameter flat press tool fixed in a vice as my outside buck. It helps to have a helper hold the hood sides while you peen the semi-tubular rivet end. I recently did my hood and ended up removing the front bumpers after initial installation and belt sanding them down a bit so they did not pop the hood hooks off the hood. The rubber was too hard to compress sufficiently to not be a problem. A trial fit of the rubber bumpers would be a good idea.

The ones i received from C.W. Moss came with bolts and nuts. Ironically the bolts are a slight bit too big for the holes in the hood but you don't have to ream much Can someone tell me if the four that go under the hood latches are rubber to the outside or inside? I see no purpose for inside and not much purpose for outside.
