Well, 5/16, or .312, or 8mm are all the same. On another site, it is given as a .325 X 30 TPI. Some allusions were made regarding the use of a "puller". I'm guessing that because of the difficulty of getting stuck distributers out, some attempts to make a puller using the shaft were made. If I'm correct about that, then Henry may have discouraged them by using that weird, stand alone thread. AFAIK It exists no where else.
