By credit card it will likely be about 4 to 5 % less than the official rate! Wayne

Some use the rate at billing not time of sale.

In a foreign country, if one has different Debit Cards and different Credit Cards with all different Banks and Companies such as Visa, MasterCard, ATM charges for obtaining cash may be best with one card .......... whereas purchases in restaurants may be better with a different card.

Lately, with far more card abuse, it is always best to let your Credit Card Company(s) know the dates that you will be traveling to a foreign country so the card is "immediately" accepted in a particular foreign credit card machine.

Capital One has a debit card without international fees or ATM fees.
