I found out about a turn signal controller black boxes that is better than the ones sold by Macs. I have no connection to the company that sells either one of them. I have two of the non-cancelling but beeping units sold by MACS. http://macsautoparts.com/model-a-for...0R3CHL1094288/ It uses a micro switch that is mounted on the gear shifter. I for one don't like the looks of the common turn signal stalks when installed on an antique car. Both units are about the size of a paperback book and can be hidden easily. Here is the superior unit sold by Electrotech which I have just bought to install on my 36 Ford woodie: http://www.turnswitch.com/Turnsignal.htm Advantages over the Model A supplier sold units: Cheaper at $110 vs $180. I will supply my own momentary micro switch for $5 and mount it on the gear shift lever. Also available is a nice looking but pricey chrome modern turn signal stalk. Auto cancelling. There is an adjustable time to cancel of 15seconds to two minutes. Cancelling is suspended when the brake is applied. This allows the turn signal to stay on while you are waiting for the red light to change. Unit works for both 6v or 12v and negative or positive ground. Hazard light feature is included. |
