Default 40 Sedan Deluxe Speaker install - No studs?

Hi, I have a 40 Sedan Deluxe and I see the 5 x 7 speaker on ClassicCarStereos, and I go behind my dash, and there is no place to bolt the speaker in?

Am I missing something? How does one put a speaker in the speaker grille area?

The speaker was originally integral of the radio.
As you are attempting to modify your car, well, it's up to you to figure out how to do so.

Robert: Don 't make the mistake of drilling any holes in your dash for the speaker. You may consider mounting the speaker somewhere else. Perhaps under the glove box.

That sounds like a good idea Jim.

Just throwing this out. Perhaps fabricate some brackets to mount the speaker on the radio body in approximately the stock location? I know this depends on a lot of things, but since later components are usually smaller then the originals, it may be possible.

There is one that goes over the radio knob posts and hangs the speaker in the "spot". I could also easily make one out of strap metal looking at this.

Mount a pair of speakers, one in each kick panel. That's where I have mine and mounted the radio in the glove box without modifying the dash.
