Default 1936 ford pickup battery tray

Does anyone have a picture of a battery tray for a ‘36 pick up. Mine has been pretty hacked up. No one seems to have this for sale so I’m going to try to re work what is left of what I have. Thanks

Hello,

I have a '36 Ford pickup and bought the two pieces that hold the Battery from Wescott's in Oregon.

I hope these photos help some.

So is that what the stock holder looks like or is that an aftermarket that Wescotts make. I called him and he didn’t seem to understand what I was looking for. But I probably confused the **** out of him explaining what I had. Haha

Hopefully this picture will help show the parts you need. The battery sits within two crossmembers, one of which is shown on the left in this photo and is only on 35 and 36 frames. The other crossmember is the same crossmember seen on every other frame of this type. If your frame is a 35 or 36, you already have the cradle to sit your battery in. All you need now is the Y shaped hold down bolts with hardware, and the battery hold down, all of which is seen in the photo I posted, minus the hardware. There is no tray for the battery to sit in. Just the two horizontal flanges on the frame mounted crossmembers that sit parallel with each other. Hopefully this makes sense.

Oh wow. I don’t have that crossmember piece in your picture. This is what my grandpa had in there and then he welded angle iron in that to support. Well I was trying to post a picture but I can’t figure out how to do it my phone

Thanks very much. You guys are great. I think I figured out what gramps did. It looks like he used a model A battery tray and welded some angle to make a box on it to hold battery. I cut off all the angle and made a new box for now I think it will work fine. At least I know what parts to keep on eye out for now. Thank you guys!!

All the original pieces are sold as reproductions. Many people with 35-36 slightly modify the mount with additional pieces to mount an optima battery.

I have an Optima battery in my 36 with zero mods. 16+ years now.
