Afraid I will have to find someone to rebuild the engine. If I did it, it would be worse that it is now. I have a guy that did my huckster so I think I will wait till spring to pull the engine and see where I go from there.
Thanks for the comments. I just thought this "unorthordox" way of doing a fix like this would "pull someones chain".
