'55-56 ignitions don't have a hole in the front to stick a pin into. I seem to remember a hole on the switch body or button on the switch body you push while turning the switch to the left and pulling it out. Been a long time since I've done this.
In the photo you can see the pin on the top right that needs to be depressed to remove the cylinder.
