Working on restoring a couple of first generation f series trucks. Does anyone know if the driveshaft was left natural finish steel or painted black? I haven't seen a lot of literature on these concerning assembly line processes like we have for the car line up. Things like which chassis parts were pre painted, which were natural finish, which were oxide finish, what was zinc plated and/or if there was a "chassis touch up" where things got resquirted with black enamel prior to decking the cab.
