I found these new skates did not have a problem changing direction. But when I put them together, I gave the ball bearings a shot of WD40 and that seemed to make them work a lot better. Also my neighbor's pickup did not have it's engine at this time so that also may have helped it move around.

Ya one of these days I need to do something with that old one lung'er. But that thing has a lot of history in our family in that it pumped water for us in the 1940-50's.
