Default Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

SoCalCoupe, that's the number I've seen. Somewhere I saw where a person wrote the Henry Ford for production numbers of 1942 Fords. What I believe they gave him would be the numbers for calendar year 1942 which as I understand it would have been January 1942 and I think the last car was built around February 10th. Hence the low numbers. My brother has a 1957 Chevy Nomad and the production numbers on that car I think were around 6,800. We were at a car show here this summer and there were 3 of them there with his sitting 10 miles away. His was matador red as was one at the show. Apparently, people felt they were a savable car early on. For sure mine didn't lead a gentle life. Around here they were also good stock car material. I don't know how many stock running 42 Deluxe coupes survive but I would guess less than 500.Maybe way less. Rare doesn't always mean valuable, but I like it.
