Re: 3 window coupe
Dave the picture is distorted (-at least on my screen) but that body appears to be a regular 45B body, ...and not one of the Budd-built 3W bodies. Am I mistaken??

Re: engine compression levels.
Actually, it generally tells quite a bit. When used in conjunction with a sensitive RPM gauge, it can help diagnose items like a worn cylinder(s), or too lean fuel mixture, or leaking manifold, etc....

Re: 2024 Old Car Festival - Greenfield Village
Is that the one where a lady driving was chauffeuring me??
As far as contacting them, usually they do not start accepting applications for the event until June because of prior scheduled events.

Re: axle housing bent
Yes, I have done many. Likely like you, I use a live center mounted into the differential race on my headstock end so that I know I have true center. On the hub race end, I am now using a 4-jaw...

Re: Front and Rear Hubs 28 Model A
I am not totally understanding your question(s) but Yes, the studs need to be swaged to rivet the drum to the hub. This is also critical because the wheel is piloted off of the taper of the lug nut.

Re: Leaking gas tank
The issue is that the tank bracket is riveted to the tank and also thru a reinforcing plate. What we have found when restoring these is the tank will have stress cracks radiating out from the rivet...

But David that is the issue that I see, not everyone does understand what this bodystyle is.
Since you used an analogy, let me use this one too. Your name is David, -and that is what people...

Re: D Nut Hole Punch
Well, if that's what you want to do. It is not what I would do, but just know that you must dimple the sill so the floorboard sits flat against the sill's ledge. If you don't, the floorboard does...

Re: D Nut Hole Punch
I do not have a drawing for these, but I did have a D-shaped punch however they are a PIA to index (-which is what broke mine). The easiest way is to drill or punch the hole and then add a drop of...

Re: New Ahooga Horns from Suppliers
It is worth noting that while the new A&L horns were very close to being aesthetically correct, they are not close enough to be judged in MARC/MAFCA competition. I think there will always be a place...

Re: New Ahooga Horns from Suppliers
One of the key things is when you get an original horn rebuilt, all you are getting is the motor rebuilt. Most of the time, the projector and cover needs bodywork and paint, and many times the...
