The Ford emblem on your bumper should be blue letters not red. The 46 was red.

I think 1942 221cid was the last year they were green. I have a 42 that is green and my friend has 46 and it's blue

I believe all 42 clocks were wind up. I know mine is. Cleaned and oiled but can't get to work. never sent away to fix. It would work for 1/2 hr. or so then stop.

Rebuilt crab dist. by Bubbas. Ign. shop. Includes a new cap and used rotor. You might want to get a new one as I didn't have a new one. $100 plus $10 ship. Never used still in Bubba's box.

You will lose a couple mF due to the increased wire length. The Ford spec for 42 -48 is 0.25-0.32 mF. If you use a late 60's Mopar cond. which is rated 0.34, if will make up for the lose. You want a...

I have run my 42 for 16 years with the condenser mounted up at the coil. All you have to do is get a condenser with a little more mf. When I go to the garage, I will look up the part #.
