Re: 32 stock v8 tudor steering very hard

Thanks for the replys, I can see whats involved now. I dont have any access to club pullers in the UK, but I dont see why we cant come up with something using a bearing separator. I will let you know...

Re: Model B front end question

Dick
I have a very saggy front spring on my 32 Tudor (V8), and have had it in the back of my mind to find/make a new spring.
I have had springs re-set on other old cars I have owned, but found...

Re: 32 stock v8 tudor steering very hard

I am going to do this job on my 32 Tudor. I have searched the forum briefly and not found a post which "walks" the reader through the process from beginning to end, so I will try to do a good job...

Re: 32 stock v8 tudor steering very hard

I think the rubber bearing in my Tudor is toast. How hard is the roller bearing to install?

Re: Reason for electric fp at rear

Mike,
would it work if you just put a check valve between the original Ford pump and the carb?

Then the fuel never drains back, and there would not be a problem with the old mech pump running...

Re: Need Rewiring Help

Im with Drolson and DrBrown. The wiring on a Ford is very straight forward. (I suppose my 32 was maybe a little more basic?). I bought a wiring loom which was excellent quality and it came with very...

Re: 6 V Lithium Jump Start?

I bought a Stark Power Li-ion pack, which is very small, about 7 inches by 4 by 1 1/2.
So small can now be carried under seat for emergency start.
It is 12 volts only, but works a treat on our...

Re: Phaeton hood/top saddle

I noticed your post about the ignition lever being reversed. I wonder if somebody in the past has replaced the bell crank on your manifold the wrong way up. This would reverse the direction of...

Re: Headlight relay good idea?

The great advantage of the relay whatever the current draw is the better electrical connection in the switching process. Not so much with 12v but still may be worth considering if you are using the...

Re: Head removal/any tips?

Make 2 of these: cut a piece of 3/4" id tube about 10" long and weld over an old spark plug. Weld a 6" long piece of same tube to the top to make a T, which is the handle. Screw each into front and...

Re: flathead ran with no oil

Glennpm has it right. You need to get some oil to the mains and rod bearings, then take the plugs out and crank it on the starter till you get oil pressure on the gauge. Also stick some oil down the...

Re: Low Compression

Get a hand seat cutter, see if she ll come back to clean seat in that worst bit, grind in the valve and get on. That all looks fine to me, the corrosion is around the water holes is just where gasket...

Re: Downdraft Carburetors?

Hi RS
Going weak to rich: TS, TD, SY, RW, RE.

Try SY, then go up or down. A Lambda sensor is a great help here, or good rolling road.

Re: 3rd brush question

With respect, with regard to the Fun Projects voltage regulator, the instructions state very clearly that you dont set the 3rd brush to max.

You start with fully charged battery, and the 3rd...

Re: Ford lifters on an Iskendarian cam

Well Murre it all depends on the design. If you put the centre line of the cam lobe off from of the centre line of the follower, grind a radius on the follower, and an angle on the face of the cam...

Re: Ford lifters on an Iskendarian cam

If V8 followers are flat faced from the factory, Ford took a step back, cos Model A and B followers were ground with a radius.

Re: another what is it..

If you wind it one way it pulls, and then wind it the other way it pushes. What a great bit of kit!

Re: Radiator cleaning

I had some Hydrochloric acid left over from a concrete floor etching job. It does a great job of dissolving rust and limescale. The evil gas that comes off is presumably chlorine, so you need to...
