With at least the 6:1 head, you need to manipulate the spark advance lever more to suit the engine’s needs. Also maximum advance is less. I have gotten used to it and it is as comfortable as double...

Be sure to test fit the cotter through the axle with the kingpin in place to make sure it will go in before having the hub in place.

I found my kingpin play by jacking up the axle on one side and trying to move the wheel at the bottom. My two tooth steering is as low slop as a modern car.

Forging Bugatti front axles, appears to be from 1991 or so. I wondered how they made them hollow, but they drilled the forging before bending.

I would add to that to try it as stock as possible and don't delay enjoying it by adding improvements like hydraulic brakes, pressure oiling, downdraft carb, etc.

I tapped a 1/8"npt hole in the plug in the torque tube and used a pair of brass street elbows to hold the vent vertical. I tried it with a tube, but it was going to be more work to keep the vent...
