Re: Mr. Ford died today 4-7-1947

I take that back... seems like they made a hearse. Why they didn't use one I'm not sure but I've seen stories that say there wasn't one around when it was needed.

Re: Mr. Ford died today 4-7-1947

Re: Mr. Ford died today 4-7-1947

I wouldn't say he preferred them. Ford didn't make a limo so he didn't have a choice. Much like his last ride. Ford didn't make a hearse either.

Re: Mr. Ford died today 4-7-1947

The cemetery and grave are well kept. It's just the rest of the city. 😁

Mr. Ford died today 4-7-1947

If you are ever in Detroit make sure to head out on Joy Rd. and visit the cemetery. The church is beautiful but pretty much abandoned. The cemetery is well kept but the area no so great. Probably...

Re: Found a nice rear door at an antique shop today

Just curious... why is it a hard sell? Seems like a fairly rust free (as in perforations) door would be desirable.

Re: Found a nice rear door at an antique shop today

Found a nice rear door at an antique shop today

Just a heads-up... know nothing about it and it's not mine so I'm not posting it in the for sale forum. But I was at an antique shop today in Springfield Ohio (Springfield Antique Center building...

Re: Edsel Ford

Lots of pictures of Edsel smiling at his house. Great place to visit if you get the chance.

How do you get banned from Ford Barn? I rarely see anyone argue too bad or anything.

Re: Need help with speedometer/odometer

Got it figured out. Need to clean it real good, lube it and reassemble. I'm glad I took it apart!

Re: Need help with speedometer/odometer

I think that is right. Can you imagine the car makers designing something like that today?!?!?!?

Re: Need help with speedometer/odometer

The problem is definitely in the odometer number stack. They'll move but they are stiff. Staring in the 10's place. Didn't go beyond that. Anyone know how to get the stack apart?

Re: Need help with speedometer/odometer

I took it apart. I can rotate the numbers very easily backwards. Nothing is stiff. Once it reaches 19999.9 it's a hard stop. So I assume the worm gear, when faced with the immovable pinion gear,...

Need help with speedometer/odometer

My speedometer works fine. My odometer stopped working at 19999.9. I took it out today and the back was popped out. See photo. The back plug was held in with what looks to be silver colored...

Re: Are brake floaters worth it?

I didn't see the choice that way. I saw it as a choice between stock brakes with stock stopping power and modified brakes with possibly enhanced stopping power. I'm not convinced that I need more...

Re: Synders radiator vs stock

No it's brass. The new one does have more fins per inch and I knew that up front.

Snyder's radiator vs stock

First let me say that I love Snyder's, I've bought a lot of parts from them and they've always been great. They shipped my new radiator very quickly! This is a comparison of their 30-31 HD radiator...

Re: Comprehesive howto for brakes?

After all the work that I just did on my front brakes I'll have to say that adjusting them may be necessary but you should use the wedges as a first resort. I had to install pills on each side to...

Are brake floaters worth it?

Since I'm re-doing my brakes I noticed the floater kits. Pretty expensive. Kits range from $200-260. Are these worth the cost?
