Sorry 1955cj5 I hope you don't mind if I hi-jack your Thread but it right up my alley. I have been trying for 2 months to drill out three studs. I think I have ruined about 4 1/4in drills and 4 23/64...

I am just wondering if any one cuts the armor around their ignition cable to make a lot easier to install. And if do they how much? I am sure no one wants to whack up an original one. Right!

Sorry I forgot to mention it is the rear journal. I think someone put the wrong cap on it. It looks like a good engine and when I check the rod caps they were in real good shape. And nothing seemed...

Can any body help me. I would like to know if there is any way to measure a crankshaft journal in a model a engine while it is still in the car? I really don't want to pull the engine. Richard

OK! Thanks everybody. I was thinking (omg) about emailing Bob Barlow in Oregon to see if he could pour me another main baring cap. If I sent the broken one and another good one to use.

I will try to post pictures. Also when I put the head on I only used the spray on copper seal on the gasket and the Head and block.

Unhappy rear main cap

Will today I took my rear main cap off and it has a chunk broken off where the seal goes. I have the broken piece so that is no problem. Last week the motor over heated and filled the pan with water....

I don't know if any one has had this problem before.Last month my starter would not do nothing (short right). Took it out and bench tested it work fine.Put it back in still nothing.Check every thing...

They told me at that time they wanted them already painted so they could verify the paint colors were authentic. They measured the length,thickness and width of the plates and numbers. Richard/Ca
