Re: Model A sea trials

Re: Here's one for ya

Be careful with those newer ignition switches. They can short out to the gas tank as you found out. Worst case is when they weld them self to the gas tank and set the wiring on fire. We had this...

Re: Bend the gear shifter?

I helped a man bend his shifter by using two pipe wrenches, one held square just above the shift tower to keep pressure off the lower part of the shaft and forks and the second a little higher up the...

Re: car Club Logo Badges

In my pre-computer days I designed a topper for one of my former clubs styled like the 20's and 30's tourist toppers. O'Brien Truckers cast these for me. Low minimum and reasonable pricing....

Re: A Club Magazines

I agree! The hobby is very lucky to have such amazing editors. There is a lot of work and time spent behind each magazine by all involved. Just think, every sixty days the editors have to start all...

Re: Mystery

Back in the 50's my little brother put a little crab apple in Dad's Model A gas tank. Drove dad crazy for about a month before he figured it out.

Re: Clear Distrubutor Cap

Be careful! Don't forget the 1980's reproduction clear caps with Ford script. I keep this one in my touring tool box.

Re: Electronic Ignition Opinions Needed

If you buy one electronic ignition system go ahead and buy a second to have as a spare and carry it with you. There is NO roadside repair or adjustment on these units and no way that I know of to...

Re: Suggestions wanted on testing an engine not on a frame

At a club meeting many years ago, we hung a Model A engine from a tree limb with a rope and fired it up. Sure was a strange sight as it swung back and forth in the wind as it was running. Sorry no...

Re: What's The A Mean to the Family?

I have seen over and over lately that when Dad or granddad dies the antique car collection becomes a burden for the wife and family who can not sell them quick enough. Usually someone will come in...
