Re: distributor swap out question

I would not suggest an impact screw driver that you hit with a hammer- the cast iron casting will probably crack and you will then have nothing but scrap.

Re: Fan catastrophe avoided

100% agree with Bob Bidonde and National judging should allow for an unmounted fan of original manufacture to complete the desire for those to get maximum points. Folks, it just plain DUMB to run...

Re: New Water pump and new August 2023 Fan

Re: Zerk grease adapter fell into housing any harm?

You may also try a shop vac where you get a smaller hose like a fuel line and use duct tape to keep it centered in the shop vacs big hose using a lot of tape to seal up the connection between the...

Highway speed 4.75 " x 19" tires vs 6.00 x 16"

Could all math wizards tell me what for instance if my car has the 19" tires and with a 3.78 rear end and a set engine rpm that gets me 55 mph on that tire size with the same conditions what would...

Re: Restamping a restamped block

Just letting my mind wander- what if you made a jig to hold the stamp in place, could somehow clamp it to the engine block and then take an air hammer and count 1001, 1002 let it hit the stamp. ...

If your pedals are loose, your pedal shaft most certainly is worn as well and both will need attention. I sent you a private message

Re: Distributor cam screw

Please do not use the impact driver that you smack with a hammer. Very good chance you will break the cast iron casting of the distributor. Better choice is get a hex nut that fits a 5/16" thread and...

Re: Clutch and brake pedal shaft removal???

I have done it 4 times and have demonstrated it to the TCMAFC Club and Mid State A's. You need to have access to a Oxy / propane or Oxy acetylene torch in order to put some heat into the areas you...

Re: WD40 as hand cleaner

I think that Dawn dish soap and warm water is easiest on your hands and is inexpensive , works very well especially with a small brush. Gojo is good but if you tend to use water to remove it and the...

Re: What is the best way of removing a stuck brake pedal shaft collar on '31 Model A?

Penetrant oil yes, if no go then, next step is heating with a torch and cooling to room temp a few times, when it is still hot push a candle into the joint and the wax can work as a lubricant, if no...

Re: Fan Blade Nut

Hopefully it is a reproduction style that is aluminum. With that said you should place a steel washer under the castle nut. If you don't it will loosen. Grab the fan and try to shake it before...

Re: Gas tank conundrum/help.

I would run a string thru the opening and catch it from the inside. Once caught I would either find a rubber stopper or have some one cut me a cone shaped form on a wooden dowel on a lathe. I would...

This is my cup holder made out of one length of copper wire. I used solder to stiffen up the assembly. I think it looks period correct and it works well mounted to my dash.

Re: What in the H...do I use to get the plug out?

Go to an industrial supplier of bearings and buy a section of 7/16" key stock . Your wrench will grip it or better yet weld a hex nut to the end for a socket to grip
