Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

Re: Adapting a later Columbia to a 1934 axle

I've got a 46-48 Columbia in my '28 p/u and it has a 4" wider track than the "A". Wheels are still inside the fenders, just closer to the outer bead.

Re: Balancing wire wheels with steel plate welded inside

I had a 21" wheel that I drilled 1/8" holes in the tubular edges to get 4 oz. of rust out. Neutralized what I couldn't get out & sealed the holes, then painted it. To balance it I put it on a bubble...

Re: Recommended Turning Signal Switch

nkaminar, I've got one of those but it would be a challenge to mount on an A wheel as the spark & throttle levers precludes mounting it close enough to the wheel to make it work. Hope to figure an...

Re: UPDATE - 61st Annual OCMAFC Pancake Breakfast

The river is not directly dependent on the rainshowers. It is the release channel for a dam upstream when the lake behind it gets too full & the timing is determined by the water district. It is out...

Re: V8 Rear Axle Width

'42-'48 is 4" wider (2"per side). I have a 42-48 Columbia in my '28 A roadster p/u & the sides of the tires are just even with the fender bead.

Re: Differential vent

To vent my Dif with a Mitchel, I had a 45* brass elbow & drilled & tapped the greasing access plug on the back torque tube till it was aimed up then screwed in a Zenith carb float valve. Works great,...

I've had a replacement honeycomb core in my '28 pickup since 1973 with 87,000 miles on it. It has always cooled superbly & I have it flushed every time I put a new engine together (3 times). I...
