Re: stromberg type carburetors

Breathe some new life into that old 97 with a rebuild kit and parts from vintagespeed.com. I rebuilt an old 81 that was on my 30 pickup and it runs like a champ! Very pleased with the quality from...

Re: Locking Gas Cap for Model A Question

Thanks Mike,
I've already torn the guts from an old radiator cap that I intend to modify with one of the locking mechanisms you cited if I cannot find something off the shelf. Another idea was...

Re: Locking Gas Cap for Model A Question

I'm sure they have, but what is more surprising is that there's no locking gas cap to fit the A out there.

Re: Locking Gas Cap for Model A Question

I've seen them for '32 and up and all those seem to have an opening of approximately 1.5". The Model A opening is 1.8". Nothing listed anywhere for Model A.

Locking Gas Cap for Model A Question

Does anybody out there know of a locking gas cap that will fit 30/31 Model A gas tank. Car show in Detroit is held indoors and one of the requirements is a locking gas cap, otherwise all fuel must be...

Re: Help with '30 Pickup Rear Fender Braces

Bob,
The fender that I took off had a bolt throught the flange just above the brace. There is a hole that goes through the bed, but there was never a bolt in it. It appears to go through the...

Help with '30 Pickup Rear Fender Braces

I have a new pair of higher quality repo fenders (and braces) for my '30 pickup. There is a lip on the flange of the fender that interferes with the location of the fender brace. It looks like any...

Re: New Rear Fenders for 1930 Pickup

I also noticed that only the outside hole on the old fender was attached to the brace.

New Rear Fenders for 1930 Pickup

I bought a pair of new rear fenders for my '30 Pickup. For the most part they look great, but I'm concerned about the original braces on the rear. I'm presuming they were bent or the wrong braces to...

Re: Have you ever seen a schematic like this?

Does your generator have a 12v electric starter? Looks similar to what I have on my Coleman, assuming the drawing is not to scale.

Re: Exhaust whistle question

I have an Aermore mounted at the tailpipe. I made the cutout from off-the-shelf exhaust parts at my local auto parts store. I used a manual choke cable mounted at the front of the seat riser. The...

Re: Old Ford Photo

Yes, it looks like it was front wheel drive according to the original patent drawings, but as the article explains below, Selden expanded his claims and dragged out the patent application process for...

Re: Old Ford Photo

Selden (an attorney, not an inventor) held a patent on the "Road Engine" and initially won his suit allowing him to threaten, then shakedown anybody who produced a carriage propelled by an engine....

Old Ford Photo

I posted this photo earlier and finally got permission to publish it in its entirety. We are coming up on the 100th anniversary of Ford's victorious challenge of the Seldon patent. Razelmond A....

Re: Year, Make and Model please

Jack,
It looks like you hit the nail on the head, which is going to make this photo all that more interesting when you see who's at the stick. I still have to get permission from the owner of...

Year, Make and Model please

I found what appears to be a historically significant photo, but I need to identify the vehicle. It appears to be an early "runabout". Not visible in the photo is the folding top. The photo was taken...
