More on using foil to set bearing clearances

Measure the foil you are using for setting bearing clearances. The standard Reynolds in our kitchen measures .005". I used two layers under teh bearing cap to set bearing clearances.

Urethane windshield sealant works well. Warm it up a little and it can be dispensed from a calking gun fairly easily. It is both and adhesive and sealant and is black in color.

Barry - I cannot recall the size of the grommets which look like smaller versions of the grommet for the speedometer cable hole in the firewall. I purchased them at a local hardware store.
