Re: Passenger Door Latch Mechanism

My understanding is that coupe/tudor latches 1937-39 are "the same", 1940 is different with internal "improvements" but is a direct interchange to 1937-39.

Re: defunct car dealers

1. The local (Gulfport) library. Old phone books, old business directories.
2. The Gulfport City Hall. Old tax records (expect to pay them to research that).
3. Newspaper archives. Look for...

Re: 1935 Humpback Trunk hinge

First issue, part nomenclature: Are you talking about the "LATCH" that mounts to the deck lid and engages the "STRIKER" that mounts to the body below the lid, or the "HINGE" that attaches to the body...

Re: 1934 Fordor roof

A couple questions.

I note in the second photo what appears to be a clip over the junction between the new and old tack strips... Am I correct, and is this stock? If stock was it also used 1932?...

Re: 1936 Coupe Door Striker Question

Note that the 3 window and 5 window have different hole centers, the strikers and backing are therefore different.

Re: roadster 1/4 panel wheel house fender location holes

Don't over think this.

Locate an original Ford fender in good enough condition to fit to the body and running boards. (The body should be aligned to the frame with front fenders fit also).

Re: Door latch rebuild. Finding parts

1. You will have to find a donor part for the spacer, or make one. I suggest phosphor-bronze spring material, McMaster-Carr would be a source, also many hobby shops catering to the train and RC plane...

Re: Rubber stopper on window channel?

That is not, repeat NOT a stop. That is the bracket and stud to engage the slide vent action feature of the window. If you have the correct regulator there will be a curved slot which the stud moves...

Re: 32 Ford Female Dovetails.

Drake and Vintique male dovetails are essentially the same. Flimsy.

Are the male dovetails showing signs of wear or distortion? Are the female dovetails showing signs of wear or "falling apart"?...

Re: Parts ID

There were several "4-hole" female dovetails used in the Model T and Model A years. Dimensions would be very nice!

Re: 39 deluxe cat whiskers

I am now working on these. I was able to successfully model in 3D cad. Much to do: finish the inside mounting tab detail, make molds, etc. No time frame, no price estimate yet. When ready I will...

Re: 32 bb v8 radiator

Be really cautious about the ebay radiators. Speedway is cheap but at least they are "brand name". There are Taiwan and China knockoffs of really questionable quality. Major issues I have heard of...

If the rivets are a 9/32 diameter, truss head I may be able to help (but not cheaply).

I do strongly recommend you consider doing one side at a time, that way you have a fully functional pattern...

Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

I have NOT been a vendor in the last two years. Marginal sales overall (this is a business decision overall) has been the trend for several years. Committing to essentially all day Sunday for...

Tom Bay in Kansas makes replacement steel door bottom outer patches, rocker panels, cowl patches, quarter patches, below deck panel replacement, and windshield side garnish moldings.

There is of course way more to the story about replacing street cars than simple chicanery of GM and Firestone.

The Pacific Electric streetcars system was...

Re: Grey hound hood ordament

1. Yes they are different. Assuming you are talking passenger car. Both clamp to the top of the ornament and, of course, ornaments are different. Pickup would use the same 1934-1936 (on the radiator...

Re: early Ford V8 flathead motor catalytic converter?

The catalytic converter works by enabling hydrocarbons to burn at a dramatically lower mixture (air + fuel) than what they would normally burn at. They are often some alloy of platinum in a ceramic...
