Reduction Ratio Gear End Cap Removal

I have the reduction ratio gear end cap off my 31 roadster. I need to get the gear shaft out to inspect it. How do I pry the end cap off without destroying it? Is there a trick to it?

Re: Snyders #A-9193-T, trouble with crud in the bottom of my fuel tank.....

Curious -- has anyone ever tried putting several magnets (separated by maybe 6-8" of light chain, followed by a 3rd magnet on a longer section of chain, into their tank to attract loose particles? ...

Re: ad nauseum-pun intended..............

For what it's worth -- I think you will find different quality of buyers in different media. FB probably has more tire kickers, whereas more legitimate, informed buyers are using Hemmings to search...

Re: Spark Plug Testing

This is exactly what I'm learning. So, when I test a spark plug (without a resistor, like on a Model A), if there IS resistance, it's indicating a problem with that plug. That's where I was...

Re: Spark Plug Testing

Meauring Ohms from the top terminal (threaded) portion of the spark plug to the bottom of the center electrode where the open spark would jump to the side electrode. I recently bought new...

Spark Plug Testing

When testing Spark Plugs, in my case Champion W16Y, what should the Ohms be? I've got 2 plugs reading fairly high (4.4), and 2 plugs reading fairly low (about 1.7).

Low Beam Light Switch won't stay in position

When I'm driving with the light switch selector 1 click over (low beams) it keeps moving and shutting the lights off. When I move it to the 2nd click over (high beams) it will stay in position. It...

Re: My First A - 1931 S/W Fordor

IMHO -- check your fuel tank. Get it clean and free of any rust or debris before you do anything else. If you don't do this--no matter how well you mechanically restore the "A," you will forever be...

Re: Operating Temperature on stock Engine?

When looking at the temperature measurements, I'm presuming that with a given range of 160-180 degrees, they're referring to 180 going "into" the radiator at the top and 160 going "out" the bottom of...

Re: Speedometer Cable - right or wrong way to reinstall after lub.

I'm confused about these instructions. "Cut off about a quarter of an inch" --of roundstock. How would roundstock fit into a hole designed for a square cable? What is the purpose of doing this? ...

Speedometer Cable - right or wrong way to reinstall after lub.

Speedometer cable isn't spinning the speedo. I took the speedometer out and drove the car, and the cable wasn't spinning. Took the cable loose at tranny end and it seems to have gone in "too far." ...

For a spare carburetor for my cars --is there an advantage or disadvantage of NEW vs REBUILT Zenith carburetors? I know that some reproduction parts are more problematic than others.

Re: Speedometer Cable not turning

Contemplating using a scope to look into the transmission end to verify if it is round-keyed or square. Has anybody done this? Is there an easier way?

Re: Speedometer Cable not turning

Are there any video or instructions on how to accomplish this? I see a lot of information about servicing the speedometer and cable, but not about the drive mechanism for the speedometers.
