Re: Steering Wheel Slop

What do you do with 3" of steering slop in a two-tooth steering box?

I have replaced all the tie rod and drag link springs and cups with the teflon mod.
The balls were mostly round, .0005-.0050...

Re: will not idle

I have a New Idle Question in this thread about idle problems.

Engine starts easy, runs well, idles a low enough RPM sound. But, when I let OFF the accelerator for shifting, after revving the...

Re: Leakless Water pump

I am preparing to change my radiator. As I read I notice that the vendors say the "impeller should be cut-down" to slow the flow rate and prevent overflowing. And, this is required for reproduction...

Re: Service Brake Cross Shaft

On Bert’s Model A parts, they sell a nylon bushing and they suggest it can be cut and placed in hot water to soften it. They say the bushing can then be slipped over the cross shaft. Does anybody...

Re: Fuse blowing

Fuse vs Circuit Breaker

As I read this thread about all the fuses that blow, what is the prevailing theory on using an automotive DC 30 amp current breaker?

Pulling fuses every night has been...

Re: Misfire mystery

Fairlane514,
I wonder if the leakdown test would have been positive with the bent valves. It sounded mechanical to me, your backfiring. If the test were positive, it would have at least saved you...

Re: Misfire mystery

Re: Spark Advance/Retard Mechanism

Very helpful and explanatory. This, therefore, explains why the upper plate is not fixed and is allowed to move. It is the movement over decades that can cause the jumper wire to fray.

Therefore,...
