Re: Rebuilt Engine Options

I had a Brumfield super head on one of my engines. I can't recall what ratio that was. That thing had hardly no spark advance with a touring cam. Ran fine on 87. BTW, higher compression heads...

Re: oil filters

I must sound like a broken...

Re: Cleaning the radiator

"Is radiator inadequate?" When I bought my car it had one of those el-cheapo Sear Robuck radiators in it. Come the heat of summer it would boil over. Cleaning one of those, or recoring it (as it...

Re: Another Find

Reminds me of the cover on the back of the pickup in Cool Hand Luke. The scene when his mother is brought to visit him while he is in prison.

Re: Cleaning the radiator

Some of these techniques in these comments are likely good maintenance every once in a while. How often depends on a few factors. One thing for sure, water pump grease sounds like a major culprit....

Re: Temperature Gauge Issue

I have had mixed results with the laser gun... Find a guy in your local club that has one of those thermometers you can drop in the radiator. Fill it up, and drop it in. Then compare the gage...

Re: Cleaning the radiator

Al these comments are good. I like the dishwasher soap thing, followed by vinegar, but I thing 72 to 48 hours is good. Especially if you take the car for a spin or two. Remember, any antifreeze...

Re: Sticking valves?

The people in your local club don't care if you have a running car, or a basket-case. If your car is broken, typically some of the guys will come over and help you figure out what the problem is...
