I had a 55 VW and sawed of most of the shift lever. Winter came and I had to leave the bug in low if I expected to go anywhere the next Wisconsin morning

I lost a blade from a 59a engine in a 46 ford. Luck was on my side as the blade went out the bottom of the engine/radiator space, cut a lower hose open.

My first car was a '39 standard 2door that had cable brakes. Since that time I have spoken to several Early Ford V8 owners that had owned '39s with the same set ups.

A quick reminder, the bolts holding the side plate on my f100 box loosened and the car started to wander.....a lot. be sure to check them or better yet, use some red stuff on them.

My s/w 160b has armrests, solid rear seat indented firewall, rear dome light and sun visors. No lap robe cord or any sort of rear pocket.

Seat Belts again

About a year ago or so, there were some posts discussing a seat belt design that turned a 2 point anchored seat belt into a shoulder belt design.

I run tubeless but use a layer of silicone seal on the valley of the rim where the spokes are welded. I also run some emery cloth over the lip of the rim where the tire meets it to smooth any bumps.

My '32 shell is a repro from Drake and has no holes nor clearance to mount the A front hood hold down as suggested. There are two holes about 3" down the shell on both sides but you have to fab up...

I used a Dremel tool to clean the crack a bit more and used A LOT of JB Weld and held it in place with a bit of masking tape......7 years so far.

An early VW Bug tow bar hooks around the front axle and works great for at least 300 miles.....at least mine did.
