Re: Oil seepage between head and engine block
700rpm, good catch. I will do that.

The headers are straight pipes and homemade as well.
The car was used in Hill Climb events and it's...

Re: Taller windshield for a speedster.
mjw, that's what I'm going to do after seeing Ross/Kzoo's speedster.
I'm too tall. The top bar is right in my line of vision, however, the seat is just about right.
I'm just going to take the top...

Taller windshield for a speedster.
Does anyone know if there is a taller windshield I can put on my speedster?
I'm using one that I believe came off a 29 coupe.
Are all model A windshields the same height?

Re: Oil seepage between head and engine block
Thanks guys. I re-torqued as best I can. Some of them were pretty loose. The problem is that head bolts 2, 8, 9 and 12 appear to be stripped. I got them all to 50lbs but #9. It would not tighten up...

I bought the Weber carb and intake from Mike's-A-Fordable out of Ga. Great service. No problems.

Smoke in the cabin of my 31 Coupe
Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden I am getting a lot of white smoke inside the cabin of my coupe when I accelerate? Based on the smell it is definitely burning oil and not an electrical problem....

Re: My Custom made Model A Trailer
Ryan, maybe I missed it, but how long is the trailer?
You mentioned one foot was added to the height.
How tall is it inside?
I'm considering the purchase of a trailer.
Thanks for sharing....

Re: Removing the exhaust and intake manifold
Since we are talking manifolds, what do you paint or cover the manifolds with to keep them looking good. I plan to install Red's tubular headers soon and don't want them looking old too soon.

Re: thoughts on the Model A engine?
Can you install a new cam without taking the engine out of the car?
If you installed a new cam would that be the time to do a valve job, or does the engine need to be out of the car to do that?

Re: Is 65 lbs torque too much for a HC head?
All is well. I backed everything down to 55 lbs and it is holding.
The car runs strong!!
I'm excited.
It is in the cool down stage now and when it is cool I will re-torque.
Thanks.

Re: Is 65 lbs torque too much for a HC head?
I spoke with Tom at Snyder's. He said that normally he would say, since I have reached 65 lbs, stay with it. It won't make much of a difference.
However, since stud #1 slipped he recommends going...

Re: Is 65 lbs torque too much for a HC head?
I haven't started the engine yet. Are you saying I could loosen all the studs and start over using only 55 lbs? I would definetly do that if it would work.
I would take the opportunity to pull...
