Re: Tail light connectore

Re: Oil filter emergency bypass

As goofy as it may sound, I have reused the old gasket with a 100% success rate.

Re: Banjo rear end hub, axle bearings and seals

The reproductions have a sorted history of poor quality. The cages were not (are not?) hardened properly and rather quickly, the cage would fail and the bearings were free to go where they wanted....

Re: Clutch pedal return spring '40 passenger

Here are two photographs that should help you. Note the hole atop the brace for one end of the spring to attach to.
I believe if you zoom in on the other photograph, you'll be able to see how the...

Re: 1932/36 Condenser replacement.

For my cars and those clients that allow me to do what I prefer, I too use the 32's.
I think the last time I bought them; they were about $28. A bargain considering the confidence a guy gets with...

Re: sagging drivers door -1936 ford tudorsedan

I tend to align doors without the dovetail in place. I don't want to rely on the dovetail moving the door into position.

Re: 1932/36 Condenser replacement.

I use a Hunt's Magneto condenser. I have used both the 28mfd and 32mfd units. GREAT reliability. With the coil you are using, solder the original "bracket end" on to the condenser and shove the...

Re: Crab distributor vacuum line

Guys, guys, guys...
That's an incorrect manifold for the 59A. The correct manifold has an integral threaded hole just below the carburetor base. There is a special fitting that allows vacuum to be...

Re: 40 Sedan Deluxe Speaker install - No studs?

The speaker was originally integral of the radio.
As you are attempting to modify your car, well, it's up to you to figure out how to do so.

Re: Lacquer Paint fix?

Just in case some folks don't believe you, I'd like to attest to the truth in your advice.
I used to buy that giant can of black shoe polish marketed as vinyl top dressing. Wax a black or marron...

Re: Nice forty Ford

I've attached a photo of a properly restored heavy duty filter.
This type was described as to be used in extreme dusty conditions. I doubt many found their way on to a car. Still, they were...

Re: Nice forty Ford
