Tillitson Carburator

HELP!!! Some place, in the not to distant past,

I read an article regarding taking the warp out of a Tillitson by applying a hose clamp around

the body and then heating the carb in an oven.

My attempts to find this article for review have been fruitless. Can anyone out there in Ford

Land tell me where it was? Many thanks in advance.

Bob Deeter

Bob, I found that article in a 1977 issue of Restorer. I posted something about it a few months back, although someone else may have also. I haven't tried it but sounds like it may work. Article says assemble halves, tighten together with clamps and place in 250 oven for 45 minutes. (Make sure the wife is shopping or something). Remove and let cool, then remove clamps. Good luck and please don't hold me responsible if it doesn't go as planned. Like I said, I haven't tried it yet.

I use 400 or 425 deg. Fahrenheit

I think that you will need this higher temperature. Have used the hose clamps a number of times successfully.
