Re: Leg room question I have a 29 coupe and a 29 pickup and the pickup is alot smaller than the coupe. I am only 5'10 so I fit in both pretty good but I couldn't imagine somebody larger getting in the pickup comfortably.

Re: Leg room question I've got a 31 roadster and just spent the better part of an hour trying to find a way to get in and out of it. I'm 6' 1" and my shoes are 11 1/2" long. Just no way outside of painful contortions can I get my feet through the 9" space between the seat base and the door pillar. Tried putting my foot through the space longways and my leg gets jammed up with the steering wheel.
There's no seat adjustment and I can't see any relatively simple way to move the base reward. Old Henry must have been a very small stature guy. Is there a procedure that's eluding me here?:( Ray |
Re: Leg room question Damn Flat32 you is a big foot. When I got me 31 the fellow gave me a seat adjuster that he got from the fellow that he bought it from now I just a have to figure out how to put it in cause it is a little hard for me's to get me feets in. Not quite as hard as you Flat32 but it is a little uncomfortable getting in but once I get in it is fine.

It's really surprising what a couple of inches will do in the way of legroom/headroom! |
Re: Leg room question I've cut the package trays down for several customer cars and they were amazed how much more
good answer . no one will know ........... it works !! |
Re: Leg room question I had a 31 CCPU & it wasnt too comfortable on a long trip & awkward getting in & out.My 30 coupe, with seat pushed back is easy to get into & very comfy on long drives.I am 6' 2" but skinny and am more comfy in the A than in my modern car.

Re: Leg room question On the '29 coupe, the stock seat overhangs the riser a lot. When I did the new seats, now I have Lots of room from the "A" post to the seat riser to get my feet in and out. With the stock seats, once I slid off the damned seat onto the running board just trying to get my feet out!
I did NO alterations to the car itself, and I didn't do that factory modification to the package tray. Ole' Bill WILL NOT BUTCHER AN "A!" And the seat units can be changed back to stock in 10 minutes!:D (provided you have peed first!) Were folks shorter in '28 & '29 than they were in '30 & '31???? Bill W. |

Re: Leg room question I have a 30 A coupe. I am 5'10 and need the seat to be bit closer. Seems as I am stretching to get the clutch down and get a better angle on the gas. I am not sort legged either. I need to find a thick car seat like we used to have in the older days. They probably still make them.

Re: Leg room question Maybe you ole men are shrinking like dem wimen do when they get older. You know like there mouths open up and dem legs close up. :D Huh Schultz whats are ya talking about theys talking about seats. Ya have  me.

Re: Leg room question Just find a small pillow like the ones you see decorating couches. Just make sure they go well with the interior of your car and you will save yourself a lot of work and money. And it will actually be more comfortable.

Re: Leg room question Flat32, there is a solution to get in and out of your roadster. I had a 29 roadster and I am 6' tall with 40" waist (lots more food last ten years).
My solution: Left foot on running board, slide right foot in, stretch right leg out straight as you twist and slide over the side and under the steering wheel. Grab left leg and pull it into the car. Getting out, just do the reverse. Oh yeah, the top has to be down for me to get in due to back problems. If that doesn't work grease your self up with butter then get a running start and jump in from the back. |
