SLOW is GOOD / Progress looks great. |
Re: Slowly She Turns I love the flathead. It ain't correct for my 53 but I'm going with that ford red color for the motor. How many cans did that take and do you remember who's engine paint? Otherwise thats going to be one sweet ride.

Re: Slowly She Turns Why didn't you paint it red" lol I love it. I see you have the 59AB cam, dist, water pumps. What else is in the engine? Walt

Re: Slowly She Turns 3 Attachment(s)
It's duplicolor ceramic engine paint, I used two cans. And the intake is also Duplicolor ceramic engine paint, I think I purchased at Auto Zone. The engine had to be bored to 3 5/16 to get out the deep rust pits, I polished the intake/exhaust ports, and relieved it about 1/16-3/32 ,to also get out pits. It as a Mercury manifold with a Rochester 2GC, stock cam. John sent a photo to Don of "Old Blue". It has come a long way from when I got it. The B-pillar used to swing in the breeze. Zeke

Re: Slowly She Turns What is that tempplate made of that's on the block to guide the rotor? I like it. Walt

Re: Slowly She Turns Nice job Zeke, What color did you use for the body, looks close to the red i used on the F1. Nice Flatty by the way. Ken

Re: Slowly She Turns 2 Attachment(s)
Walt It's Masonite, laid out with a head gasket and trimed to fit, had to counter sink the screws to allow the router plate to sit level, router has a guide and an end mill, worked great.
Ken the paint is acrylic enamel at $50 a gallon with a hardner added at $22, came from paint for cars, also painted my Model A with the same paint. I used a basecoat/clear coat on my pick up, it was to costly for this cheap guy , so I went with enamel. Zeke |
Re: Slowly She Turns Hi Zeke, I love the progress on your slant back. Always nice to see another 37 saved. I noticed you have filled the battery tray on the firewall. Where will the battery go? Keep us up to date on your progress.
